Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs for Self-Exclusion Request Procedures

1. What is the Self-Exclusion Program?

The Self-Exclusion Program allows people who may have a gambling problem or have any reason to want to voluntarily request that we prohibit any participation in any activities at Empire City at Yonkers Raceway or at Yonkers Raceway. By completing the appropriate forms, these people are banned from all gambling activities in our gaming facility or at our racetrack, as well as any other video gaming or racing facilities in New York State, and they are prohibited from collecting any winnings or recovering any losses. They cannot receive any complimentary services or participate in our Empire Club Promotions Booth campaigns or promotions.

2. How does someone get on the Self-Exclusion List?

A person may have his or her own name placed on the list:

  • By going to our facility and going to the Director of Security to request and complete the necessary forms.
  • By calling the Security Department at 914-968-4200 to request the appropriate forms and then bringing the completed request to our Security Office to be processed.
  • By going to www.yonkersraceway.com and downloading the appropriate forms (Self Exclusion Information) and bringing the properly completed documents to our Security Office for processing.
All completed request forms must be submitted with proper identification and a photograph which will be taken by Security.

3. Can someone place a family member with a gambling problem on this list?

No. Placement on the list is entirely voluntary and must be done by the individual seeking exclusion.

4. How long will someone's name and information be kept on the list?

That is up to the person making the request. He or she may choose the length of time that he or she wants to be excluded - one year, five years or lifetime - although the person may seek reinstatement of gaming and racing privileges after one year.

5. How does someone have their name removed from the list?

Any individual may ask to have his or her name removed from the Self-Exclusion List after one year from the time the original request was made. To have your gambling privileges reinstated, you must submit the properly completed Reinstatement Form with appropriate identification. Individuals should contact the Director of Security for appropriate forms and instructions and/or any additional information that may be required at that time.

6. What happens after my name is added to the list?

Your request and the information you submit is shared with the New York State Division of the Lottery and/or the New York State Racing and Wagering Board and you are excluded from all gaming facilities and racetracks in the State of New York.

7. What happens if I go to and/or gamble at Empire City at Yonkers Raceway or Yonkers Raceway, or any other licensed NYS gambling facility, after I have added my name to the list?

If you are found on the premises of our gaming facility or racetrack or any other licensed gambling facility in the State of New York, you will be asked to leave immediately. If you do not do so, you will be subject to arrest for trespass by law enforcement authorities.

If you are found gambling, any winnings or losses may be subject to forfeiture.

Should you enter the premises after you have asked to be self-excluded, Empire City at Yonkers Raceway and Yonkers Racing Corporation will not be liable for any losses or damages you may incur as specifically set forth in the REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY SELF-EXCLUSION FORM which you will be required to sign I order to process your self-exclusion request.
